PALILULA MUNICIPALITY ADPATS MUNICIPAL SETTLEMENTS

From thirty wild dumps, registered in Palilula Municipality with the help of citizens by the Service for inspection affairs, 15 locations were adapted into green surfaces. Resources, in the amount of 1,45 million RSD, that we got thanks to project `Transformation of illegal dumps into park surfaces` were directed to sanitation of 15 locations where waste was put. We transformed them into green surfaces also in these locations we put mobiliars for recreation activities of children and young people. Today during the visit of the settlement Delijski Vis in Veljka Petrovica street, we saw one of the adapted, earlier ruined locations –emphasized Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality.

This is the third year as Palilula Municipality over the project got the resources from the budget of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Ministry for state administration and local self government as the stimuli for further development. According to the words of president Dzunic during this year the activity of the Municipality in the sphere of the realization of programme for life surrounding protection is taken into account.

`Certain citizens are bothered with the fact that children gather here and play on the locations that we have adapted. Certain people are bothered with the children noise and others find this as great pleasure finally for the children to have their own place and that this act only make them happier. I have to say, emphasized that president of Palilula Municipality that this is city construction area of public importance. The dump that was cleaned here is the result of the bad behavior of individuals first of all the people living in surrounding buildings. There will always be unsatisfied citizens and this project is participated for Palilula with all possible permits and it is implemented successfully, said Dzunic.

Milos Stojkovic, president of Municipal Assembly and Sasa Matic deputy president of the Assembly, as well as Svetislav Petrovic and Milos Stojiljkovic, members of the Municipal Assembly of Palilula Municipality also joined the president in visiting location.

According to Nenad Pavlovic, coordinator of the project and Communal inspection of Palilula Municipality, inspection organs of the Municipality regularly are doing the supervision on the whole territory of the Municipality in order to prevent among the other things destruction of the life surrounding. However, seven inspectors, working in the Municipality, physically are not capable to controlling all surfaces. Maximum is done to keep these adapted areas under constant supervision. Public communal enterprises help us in this matter by regular cleaning after our demands and take away the waste that is usually found on green surfaces. Communal police, supervises also but these actions and education can give the best feedback with younger people.

Palilula Municipality is one of 53 municipalities in Serbia that after the call in the end of 2011 for 6 areas, got the resources for the realization of the project `Transformation of wild dumps into park surfaces`. Successful cooperation is with the organizations of civil societies and media ecologic net Serbia-EKO polis in promotion of the project objectives and creating ambience that contribute that the habits are changed of irresponsible individuals and adapt ruined areas. Locations with adapted children recreation mobiliar: Rudnicka, Carnojevica, Bubanj Selo, Lalinske pojate, Gornje Medjurovo, Krsce, Cokot, Gabrovac, Gabrovacka river, Delijski Vis, Mokranjceva, Ledena Stena, Mramorski potok, Juzni Bulevar.
